If you are looking for a way to give meaningful gifts to family and friends, come to the 2nd Annual Alternative Gifts Market on November 7,2009 9 AM to 1 PM at St.Peter's Parish Hall, corner of Spruce and Georgia in Gunnison. You'll find booths explaining projects that support the U.N. Millennium Development Goals such as Hunger, Education, Gender Equality, Child Mortality, Maternal Health, Medical Services, Environmental Stability and Collaboration. When you purchase a gift, you receive a beautiful card and information about how your gift helps people around the world in crises. All funds received are sent to Alternative Gifts International and Heifer International. Last year's market in Gunnison raised $4837 for AGI and $1285 for Heifer. Our Gunnison food pantry was awarded a grant of $4150 in assistance from AGI. The market accepts cash or checks, no credit cards. Please bring your family and friends to the Alternative Gifts Market for a unique shopping experience that makes a difference in our world.
